Summary The barrier material is a crucial component for wells, as it provides mechanical support to the casing and prevents uncontrolled flow of formation fluids, ensuring zonal isolation. One essential prerequisites success cementing an oil gas well efficient removal in-situ fluids their adequate replacement by material. quality mud displacement affected both density viscosity hierarchy among subsequent fluids. Consequently, accurate reliable measurement fluid properties can help ensure consistent large-scale mixing verification that mixed are according plan. In this paper, we investigate implementation pipe viscometer future automated measurements materials isolation perform sequential validation starts with small-scale batch characterization particle-free calibration liquids, followed conventional Class G cement selected new materials. Finally, larger-scale was performed integrating into yard-scale mixer in-line expanding oilwell mixing. all cases, curves derived from were compared offline using rheometer oilfield viscometer. After series comparisons, investigated system proved estimation. curve showed results similar viscometer, validating proposed test configuration continuously measure rheological behavior generally found be in good quantitative agreement independent although some likely exhibited entrance length effects. Future improvements design involve assessment even longer sections allow full development at highest shear rate range possibly different diameters improve resolution low-shear viscosity.
